Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 4.32% or 0.84 points to trade at 20.30 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) added 3.30% or 4.42 points to end at 138.50 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was up 3.24% or 1.44 points to 45.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which lost 3.91% or 0.29 points to trade at 7.12 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) declined 2.27% or 0.52 points to end at 22.42 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) shed 1.63% or 0.22 points to 13.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 104 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.76% or 44.65 to $2,587.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.78% or 1.87 to hit $69.18 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $72.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 19.53, while EUR/MXN fell 0.08% to 21.62.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 101.23.
