FTSE 100 today: Index rises, GBP higher, Burberry recovers, GSK falls
Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 4.02% or 0.33 points to trade at 8.53 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 2.20% or 11.08 points to end at 514.82 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) was up 1.91% or 0.97 points to 51.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which lost 3.09% or 0.46 points to trade at 14.44 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) declined 2.52% or 0.55 points to end at 21.25 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) shed 1.79% or 0.99 points to 54.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 95 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.87% or 62.60 to $3,406.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.03% or 0.70 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.44 to trade at $70.21 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 18.90, while EUR/MXN rose 0.23% to 21.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 97.85.
