Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 7.44% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.260 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 5.00% or 0.200 points to end at 4.200 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 1.57% or 0.200 points to 12.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Milpo (LM:MIL), which lost 16.67% or 0.260 points to trade at 1.300 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.56% or 0.005 points to end at 0.085 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) shed 4.54% or 0.250 points to 5.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 6 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.18% or 0.67 to $31.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.78% or 0.84 to hit $31.02 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.91% or 9.90 to trade at $1077.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.20% to 3.4319, while EUR/PEN rose 1.19% to 3.7492.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 99.17.
