Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Plantations, Beverages & Tobacco and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 22.73% or 1.50 points to end at 8.10 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was up 22.01% or 3.50 points to 19.40 in late trade.

Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) declined 13.28% or 6.60 points to end at 43.10 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 82 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.55% or 0.80 to $50.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.44% or 0.82 to hit $55.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 7.76 to trade at $1277.04 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.71% to 203.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.090.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 93.40.
