Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 2.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 14.39% or 0.620 points to trade at 4.930 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 4.95% or 3.430 points to end at 72.710 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 5.14% or 4.560 points to 93.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL), which lost 2.13% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.020 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 1.75% or 1.920 points to end at 107.980 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 0.61% or 0.14 points to 22.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 36 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.22% or 2.50 to $1118.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.28% or 0.42 to hit $33.65 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 3.29% or 1.15 to trade at $35.95 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.92% to 18.1607, while EUR/MXN fell 1.85% to 19.6787.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.01% at 99.62.
