FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Weitz & Luxenberg said on Wednesday it and other law firms reached a settlement with Bayer (DE:BAYGn) on behalf of almost one hundred thousand Americans who had been diagnosed with cancer after exposure to Monsanto (NYSE:MON)'s Roundup weedkiller.

The German drugs and pesticides group is keen to draw a line under the legal dispute over Roundup and other glyphosate-based weedkillers, which it inherited via its $63 billion takeover of Monsanto in 2018.

Bayer was not immediately available for comment.

Myth: Nothing can be done for children with birth defects.Truth: Up to 70% of birth defects can be prevented or treated. Prevention measures include no alcohol during pregnancy. Curative treatment includes surgery for conditions such as congenital dislocated hip, cleft lip or palate, gastrointestinal tract abnormalities and undescended testes. Long-term treatment and rehabilitation can reduce disability and improve the quality of life of those affected.
In South Africa, one in 15 babies are affected by a birth defect. “Only some defects are obvious at birth, such as club foot and cleft lip and/or palate, while others, such as congenital heart disorders, are hidden,” explains Dr Helen Malherbe, chair of Genetic Alliance South Africa. “
The World Health Organization describes a birth defect as an abnormality in structure or function of a person that is present from birth. The majority of birth defects are genetic or partially genetic in cause and occur before conception. The remainder are caused by abnormalities of the foetal environment (alcohol, recreational drugs, maternal illness, etc) that occur after conception.Serious birth defects can cause death or life-long disability.
Please help your government find out the real cause of these deformed babies born in the uk recent times - Bayer is not the problem - it’s very commonly known by WHO that in most parts in the African continent - this exact deformity is common especially in the poor community - if the UK government doesn’t get to find the real cause of this deformity - there is still many more to come- very appaling and stupid to disgrace a country wrongly
According to articles on websites and medias it was suggested the parents of these children could have been exposed to some foreign material which could be unseen, obviously before they are born - doctors suggests this could be an airborne disease due to poor environment and exposure to bacteria - maybe your government should use its scientist to discover the actual cause of this deformity and not blame game a company just because you are looking for answers. Bayer is not your solution or the problem. If not solved, there will be many many more children as such born in the society of the UK - but please desist from using any German products since your narrow mindedness will lead you searching again for a scapegoat goat for I can imagine how devastating it is for the Germans foolishly and wrongly accused by this same Britain people the Churchill and its Russia ally, Stallon made the Germans go through. If the UK do not attend to the real cause of the problem, there is certainty that m
The evil people do will come again another day after these people and now again the uk on socalled pill
