Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 3.26% or 0.3800 points to trade at 12.0300 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 2.83% or 0.56 points to end at 20.36 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was up 2.71% or 0.170 points to 6.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which lost 2.35% or 0.35 points to trade at 14.52 in late trade. Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI) declined 0.96% or 0.130 points to end at 13.430 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) shed 0.63% or 0.14 points to 22.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 239 to 186 and 6 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.91% or 0.38 to $42.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.62% or 0.72 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.70% or 7.50 to trade at $1068.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.0618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7019.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.89.
