Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 6.51% or 3.79 points to trade at 62.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.67% or 0.149 points to end at 5.722 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.30% or 0.18 points to 14.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 0.36% or 0.89 points to trade at 244.96 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.35% or 0.07 points to end at 21.64 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) shed 0.24% or 0.007 points to 2.933.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.04% to 16.93.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.90 to trade at $1326.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 95.19.
