Investing.com - Shares of Juventus Football Club jumped Wednesday amid reports that soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid to join the Italian team.
According to several media reports, including Spanish sports newspaper As, Ronaldo has accepted the offer and Juventus will pay a €106 million ($116.9 million) release clause.
Juventus is offering a four-year contract worth €120 million ($140.3 million) to pick up the Portuguese player who has won a record-tying five Ballon D’Or awards and four European Golden Shoes, according to Portuguese sports newspaper O Jogo.
Ronaldo had already hinted at the move after the Champions League final and reports pointed to his disappointment with Florentino Perez, president of his current club Real Madrid, over the failure to reach a new contract this year.
At 5:14AM GMT (9:14GMT), Milan listed shares of Juventus (MI:JUVE) rose 6.03% to 0.7820 euros.
