Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were IHI Corp. (T:7013), which rose 5.29% or 121.0 points to trade at 2407.0 at the close. Advantest Corp. (T:6857) added 4.44% or 215.0 points to end at 5060.0 and Marubeni Corp. (T:8002) was up 4.05% or 28.1 points to 722.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NKSJ Holdings, Inc. (T:8630), which lost 2.84% or 127.0 points to trade at 4351.0 in late trade. CyberAgent Inc (T:4751) declined 1.45% or 60.0 points to end at 4090.0 and NEC Corp. (T:6701) shed 1.30% or 60.0 points to 4565.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2614 to 883 and 219 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.15.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.38% or 0.20 to $52.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.50% or 0.29 to hit $58.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 5.95 to trade at $1498.45 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.02% to 107.31, while EUR/JPY rose 0.10% to 117.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.655.
