Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN), which rose 0.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 8.36 at the close. Snam SpA (BIT:SRG) added 0.52% or 0.03 points to end at 4.80 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was up 0.45% or 0.03 points to 6.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (BIT:BZU), which lost 5.47% or 2.56 points to trade at 44.22 in late trade. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) declined 4.86% or 0.77 points to end at 15.07 and Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) shed 4.80% or 2.54 points to 50.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 439 to 130 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.04% or 2.11 to $71.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.64% or 1.92 to hit $74.68 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.09% or 34.06 to trade at $3,148.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 103.97.
