Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.12%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.12%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 3.95% or 0.0208 points to trade at 0.5470 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) added 3.28% or 0.057 points to end at 1.803 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was up 1.88% or 0.0480 points to 2.6080 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which lost 4.88% or 0.380 points to trade at 7.400 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 3.61% or 0.1500 points to end at 4.0000 and Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER) shed 3.33% or 0.69 points to 20.06.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 204 to 144 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.28% or 0.16 to $56.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.70% or 0.47 to hit $66.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1446, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8910.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.10.
