Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII), which rose 4.99% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.82 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 4.01% or 0.18 points to end at 4.62 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) was up 3.98% or 0.26 points to 6.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hera (BIT:HRA), which lost 0.61% or 0.02 points to trade at 3.24 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 0.41% or 0.16 points to end at 37.78 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) shed 0.40% or 0.04 points to 9.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 310 to 185 and 36 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.95% or 0.77 to $81.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.87% or 0.73 to hit $85.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 10.25 to trade at $2,341.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
