FTSE 100 today: Index opens flat amid latest trade developments; pound above $1.36
Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Chemicals and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which rose 4.56% or 2.52 points to trade at 57.80 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) added 2.60% or 0.51 points to end at 19.94 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) was up 2.48% or 0.13 points to 5.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which lost 2.17% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.38 in late trade. Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) declined 1.31% or 0.19 points to end at 14.37 and Pirelli & C SPA (BIT:PIRC) shed 0.99% or 0.06 points to 6.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 362 to 227 and 63 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.50% or 0.92 to $60.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.33% or 0.85 to hit $63.27 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.17% or 73.60 to trade at $3,320.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 99.51.
