U.K. unemployment rose to 4.7% in May; wage growth slows
Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 3.44% or 0.75 points to trade at 22.43 at the close. Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) added 2.58% or 0.22 points to end at 8.74 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) was up 2.54% or 0.51 points to 20.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA (BIT:MDBI), which lost 3.04% or 0.63 points to trade at 20.09 in late trade. Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI) declined 2.06% or 0.66 points to end at 31.45 and Poste Italiane SpA (BIT:PST) shed 1.46% or 0.28 points to 18.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 295 to 247 and 46 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.68% or 1.05 to $63.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.64% or 1.06 to hit $65.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 22.33 to trade at $3,374.87 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 99.14.
