Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which rose 2.29% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 at the close. Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) added 2.23% or 0.16 points to end at 7.09 and Inwit (BIT:INWT) was up 2.19% or 0.22 points to 10.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which lost 3.31% or 1.46 points to trade at 42.65 in late trade. Banca Mediolanum SpA (BIT:BMED) declined 2.06% or 0.26 points to end at 12.37 and Buzzi Unicem (BIT:BZU) shed 1.91% or 0.84 points to 43.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 276 to 247 and 36 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.06% or 1.91 to $64.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.61% or 1.73 to hit $67.99 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.94 to trade at $3,424.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 98.40.
