Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.96%, while the ADX General index gained 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA), which rose 3.66% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.830 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 3.33% or 0.020 points to end at 0.620 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 3.03% or 0.040 points to 1.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which lost 0.36% or 0.002 points to trade at 0.550 in late trade. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 0.35% or 0.010 points to end at 2.870 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 8.160.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which rose 8.75% to 0.8700, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 4.62% to settle at 1.360 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 3.32% to close at 6.54.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 9.90% to 2.82 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 7.69% to settle at 0.360 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.69% to 0.580 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 5 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 5 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.01% or 0.46 to $45.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.79% or 0.37 to hit $47.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.48% or 6.35 to trade at $1337.75 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.39% to 4.1267.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.17.
