Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr), which rose 4.59% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.66 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 1.79% or 0.11 points to end at 6.24 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) was up 0.71% or 0.20 points to 28.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 6.48% or 0.35 points to trade at 5.05 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 5.98% or 0.14 points to end at 2.20 and Avax SA (AT:AVAr) shed 5.96% or 0.13 points to 2.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 19 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.29% or 40.31 to $3,154.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.28% or 1.58 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.42 to trade at $74.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 103.91.
