Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 4.40% or 0.68 points to trade at 16.12 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 3.64% or 0.64 points to end at 18.24 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) was up 1.89% or 0.06 points to 3.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which lost 4.60% or 1.55 points to trade at 32.15 in late trade. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) declined 3.33% or 0.50 points to end at 14.50 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) shed 3.28% or 0.42 points to 12.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 42 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.87% or 26.40 to $3,017.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $67.96 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $71.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.78.
