Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr), which rose 4.05% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.00 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 3.40% or 0.50 points to end at 15.20 and Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) was up 2.81% or 0.14 points to 5.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which lost 5.20% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.37 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 3.96% or 0.15 points to end at 3.52 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) shed 2.49% or 0.02 points to 0.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 46 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.11% or 2.60 to $2,470.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.81% or 1.44 to hit $81.15 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 1.20 to trade at $84.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 103.50.
