Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 5.20% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.86 at the close. Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) added 4.19% or 1.60 points to end at 39.80 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) was up 3.45% or 1.00 points to 30.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 3.80% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 in late trade. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 2.68% or 0.40 points to end at 14.54 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 2.13% or 0.05 points to 2.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.60% or 84.20 to $3,324.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.22% or 1.36 to hit $62.69 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.25 to trade at $65.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 99.26.
