Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 7.14% or 1.00 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 5.87% or 0.14 points to end at 2.45 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 5.36% or 0.11 points to 2.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT:PSALr), which lost 5.58% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.37 in late trade. Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT:PREFr) declined 4.02% or 0.22 points to end at 5.25 and Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT:ORILINAr) shed 3.05% or 0.02 points to 0.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 41 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.36% or 12.39 to $3,437.69 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.36% or 0.85 to hit $63.26 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.70 to trade at $66.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 98.30.
