Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.05% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 3.71% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.75 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 3.26% or 0.51 points to end at 16.15 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) was up 3.02% or 0.30 points to 10.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intrakat Technikon Kai Energeiakon Ergon AE (AT:INCr), which lost 2.52% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.02 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 2.26% or 0.26 points to end at 11.22 and Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) shed 1.62% or 0.06 points to 3.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 41 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 6.70 to $2,534.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $73.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $76.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 101.59.
