Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.78% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.71 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 4.49% or 0.04 points to end at 0.93 and Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) was up 4.31% or 0.04 points to 1.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which lost 1.38% or 0.10 points to trade at 7.17 in late trade. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) declined 1.01% or 0.02 points to end at 1.96 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) shed 0.82% or 0.03 points to 3.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 3.01% or 82.35 to $2,654.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.86% or 2.04 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.73% or 2.04 to trade at $72.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 106.88.
