Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Financial Services, Construction and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.52%, while the MDAX index fell 0.60%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 3.68% or 1.35 points to trade at 38.01 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 2.54% or 1.20 points to end at 48.40 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 1.90% or 0.29 points to 15.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which lost 7.23% or 2.08 points to trade at 26.68 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 4.21% or 1.69 points to end at 38.45 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) shed 3.02% or 0.73 points to 23.42.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 2.92% to 82.80, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 2.63% to settle at 5.85 and GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which gained 1.99% to close at 37.96.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was down 5.27% to 32.02 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 4.99% to settle at 76.50 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.61% to 22.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 4.99% to 61.00, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 3.68% to settle at 38.01 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 1.41% to close at 75.50.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.61% to 22.40 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 3.04% to settle at 93.95 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.36% to 244.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 276 and 39 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.34% to 13.04.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.84% or 68.00 to $2,322.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.16 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.32 to trade at $79.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 104.82.
