Oil prices rise after EU agrees Russian sanctions
Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.58%, while the MDAX index declined 1.02%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 3.37% or 1.39 points to trade at 42.62 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 2.81% or 1.19 points to end at 43.49 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 1.57% or 0.57 points to 36.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 5.80% or 103.00 points to trade at 1,671.50 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 3.62% or 3.12 points to end at 83.02 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) shed 2.19% or 12.60 points to 562.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which rose 2.93% to 27.40, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.27% to settle at 13.07 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 1.96% to close at 65.10.
The worst performers were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which was down 11.74% to 68.26 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 6.11% to settle at 90.70 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 3.61% to 76.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which rose 7.57% to 24.74, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 2.51% to settle at 41.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.27% to close at 13.07.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.11% to 90.70 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 2.09% to settle at 32.84 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 1.33% to 28.22 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 304 to 300 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.33% to 19.07.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 9.05 to $3,345.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.72% or 0.47 to hit $65.76 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.49 to trade at $67.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 99.04.
