Goldman Sachs is out with its near-term forex outlook
Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction, Industrials and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.12%, while the MDAX index fell 0.86%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 1.72% or 4.80 points to trade at 284.20 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) added 1.24% or 0.50 points to end at 40.78 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 1.06% or 3.00 points to 285.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 4.99% or 94.00 points to trade at 1,788.00 in late trade. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) declined 1.72% or 1.60 points to end at 91.64 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 1.46% or 0.61 points to 41.26.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 1.67% to 100.20, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 1.67% to settle at 63.90 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 1.43% to close at 60.10.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.42% to 99.10 in late trade, RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which lost 6.24% to settle at 78.60 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 3.42% to 9.43 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 2.92% to 74.00, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (ETR:DRWG_p) which was up 2.14% to settle at 71.60 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 1.43% to close at 60.10.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.42% to 99.10 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 3.49% to settle at 65.05 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.91% to 17.93 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 322 to 288 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.10% to 19.17.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.61% or 20.70 to $3,354.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.93% or 1.22 to hit $64.59 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.74% or 1.14 to trade at $66.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 99.15.
