Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 4.67%, while the MDAX index added 3.62%, and the TecDAX index added 3.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which rose 7.28% or 15.60 points to trade at 230.00 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 7.15% or 1.28 points to end at 19.23 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 5.89% or 1.43 points to 25.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA), which lost 0.90% or 0.32 points to trade at 35.22 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 0.22% or 0.40 points to end at 179.15 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) gained 0.32% or 0.10 points to 31.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 8.04% to 32.24, DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA (ETR:DWSG) which was up 7.84% to settle at 40.98 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 7.60% to close at 117.50.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was up 0.21% to 48.10 in late trade, Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which gained 0.45% to settle at 17.89 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was up 0.59% to 84.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 7.83% to 53.70, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was up 7.28% to settle at 230.00 and Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which gained 7.11% to close at 21.85.
The worst performers were Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 0.90% to 35.22 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 0.18% to settle at 21.96 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 0.22% to 179.15 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 549 to 89 and 13 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.01% or 92.54 to $3,171.94 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.46% or 2.78 to hit $59.57 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 3.96% or 2.59 to trade at $62.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 2.16% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP rose 1.23% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.74% at 100.83.
