Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Software sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.49% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.85%, and the TecDAX index climbed 2.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 7.49% or 5.06 points to trade at 72.60 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) added 5.33% or 7.84 points to end at 154.94 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 5.14% or 77.00 points to 1,576.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which lost 3.72% or 22.40 points to trade at 579.20 in late trade. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 3.07% or 1.05 points to end at 33.15 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) shed 0.54% or 0.24 points to 44.39.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 9.35% to 12.92, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 5.58% to settle at 21.00 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 4.88% to close at 26.00.
The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was down 10.00% to 32.40 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 1.11% to settle at 13.32 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 0.53% to 2.61 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 9.35% to 12.92, IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which was up 6.48% to settle at 31.20 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 6.29% to close at 37.84.
The worst performers were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 1.95% to 15.10 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 1.11% to settle at 13.32 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 0.50% to 59.80 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 478 to 155 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.60% to 23.40.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 14.05 to $3,236.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.55% or 0.92 to hit $58.32 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.79 to trade at $61.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.66.
