Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Insurance and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.36%, while the MDAX index climbed 3.48%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 6.27% or 1.29 points to trade at 21.87 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 6.13% or 8.80 points to end at 152.40 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 5.75% or 71.50 points to 1,315.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which lost 2.09% or 1.40 points to trade at 65.68 in late trade. Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) declined 1.49% or 0.73 points to end at 48.31 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) shed 0.88% or 0.29 points to 32.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which rose 11.96% to 45.17, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 10.97% to settle at 23.37 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 9.52% to close at 131.10.
The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 0.81% to 67.35 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 0.78% to settle at 32.92 and K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 0.24% to 12.33 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.03% to 5.70, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 7.36% to settle at 60.55 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 5.69% to close at 16.16.
The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 0.75% to 29.30 in late trade, Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which lost 0.23% to settle at 21.95 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 0.18% to 22.06 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 530 to 117 and 19 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.24% or 36.94 to $3,010.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.86% or 0.52 to hit $61.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $64.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 103.06.
