Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Retail and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.32%, while the MDAX index gained 2.36%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG), which rose 4.21% or 6.70 points to trade at 165.70 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 3.75% or 54.00 points to end at 1,494.00 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 3.71% or 1.01 points to 28.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which lost 2.03% or 4.10 points to trade at 198.20 in late trade. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 0.45% or 0.20 points to end at 44.02 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) shed 0.31% or 0.07 points to 20.83.
The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which rose 8.48% to 51.89, AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which was up 8.28% to settle at 19.88 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 6.07% to close at 2.76.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 3.58% to 51.10 in late trade, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 1.45% to settle at 13.55 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 1.40% to 33.75 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 5.86% to 68.60, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 4.73% to settle at 53.15 and Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which gained 4.66% to close at 23.60.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 0.21% to 71.50 in late trade, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which gained 0.11% to settle at 37.17 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 0.27% to 22.14 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 469 to 167 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.38% or 12.40 to $3,238.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.68% or 0.42 to hit $61.11 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.45 to trade at $64.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP fell 0.87% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 99.89.
