Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.27% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.69%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which rose 2.94% or 5.26 points to trade at 184.16 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 2.61% or 6.40 points to end at 251.60 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 2.45% or 2.44 points to 102.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 1.31% or 3.20 points to trade at 240.20 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 0.62% or 0.18 points to end at 29.01 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) shed 0.41% or 0.06 points to 14.51.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 3.95% to 80.30, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 3.29% to settle at 138.10 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which gained 3.14% to close at 44.70.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 4.02% to 8.95 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 3.81% to settle at 101.00 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.79% to 20.90 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 4.23% to 81.40, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 2.98% to settle at 117.60 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.22% to close at 36.08.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 7.41% to 63.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 4.02% to settle at 8.95 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.79% to 20.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 379 to 226 and 37 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.44% to 12.71.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.60 to $2,418.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.12 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.17 to trade at $85.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 103.79.
