Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Industrials and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.26% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.87%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 14.03% or 114.60 points to trade at 931.60 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 3.35% or 2.06 points to end at 63.60 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was up 2.54% or 13.20 points to 532.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which lost 1.56% or 0.46 points to trade at 29.09 in late trade. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.00% or 1.00 points to end at 98.82 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) shed 0.77% or 1.90 points to 244.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 19.77% to 5.61, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 13.54% to settle at 46.30 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 7.52% to close at 13.52.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 2.36% to 2.60 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 2.10% to settle at 13.07 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 1.60% to 77.28 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 13.54% to 46.30, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was up 4.42% to settle at 34.46 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which gained 3.61% to close at 21.24.
The worst performers were Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which was down 34.54% to 32.60 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 1.05% to settle at 11.31 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 0.95% to 41.60 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 394 to 224 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.23% to 17.99 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.39% or 11.25 to $2,911.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.61% or 0.43 to hit $71.14 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.32 to trade at $75.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 106.66.
