Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Food & Beverages and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.43%, while the MDAX index added 0.63%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 9.54% or 5.14 points to trade at 59.04 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 2.02% or 10.20 points to end at 515.20 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 1.72% or 3.80 points to 224.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which lost 0.96% or 1.10 points to trade at 113.60 in late trade. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) declined 0.34% or 0.64 points to end at 187.02 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) shed 0.32% or 0.28 points to 88.16.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 12.80% to 129.50, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 12.44% to settle at 6.11 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 4.93% to close at 12.55.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 3.61% to 40.62 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 2.12% to settle at 13.84 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 1.79% to 21.34 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 8.63% to 64.20, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 4.93% to settle at 12.55 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.33% to close at 36.00.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 2.79% to 76.60 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 0.58% to settle at 20.60 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 0.37% to 93.25 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 359 to 231 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.77% to 13.45.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.65 to $2,365.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $83.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $87.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 104.81.
