Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.23% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.09%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 2.44% or 41.00 points to trade at 1,723.00 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) added 1.50% or 4.20 points to end at 284.30 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 1.44% or 0.41 points to 28.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn), which lost 2.89% or 0.44 points to trade at 14.79 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 2.25% or 1.00 points to end at 43.40 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 1.91% or 0.90 points to 46.23.
The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which rose 7.74% to 59.88, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 5.34% to settle at 22.90 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.15% to close at 7.20.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 6.12% to 27.30 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 4.34% to settle at 59.50 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 4.15% to 40.14 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which rose 20.29% to 18.50, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 5.34% to settle at 22.90 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.15% to close at 7.20.
The worst performers were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 5.84% to 69.30 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 3.83% to settle at 27.60 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.48% to 12.74 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 326 to 275 and 38 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.76% to 17.85.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.25% or 40.36 to $3,186.24 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.54% or 0.95 to hit $62.57 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.89 to trade at $65.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.07.
