Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.22% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.14%, and the TecDAX index added 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 8.19% or 2.58 points to trade at 34.03 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) added 5.17% or 1.92 points to end at 39.03 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) was up 4.75% or 1.77 points to 39.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 5.90% or 100.00 points to trade at 1,594.00 in late trade. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 4.28% or 0.67 points to end at 14.89 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) shed 3.32% or 1.00 points to 29.13.
The top performers on the MDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 6.75% to 22.46, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 6.47% to settle at 24.03 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 6.14% to close at 41.65.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 11.56% to 65.00 in late trade, RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which lost 6.24% to settle at 54.39 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 5.91% to 9.59 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which rose 11.11% to 36.50, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 8.19% to settle at 34.03 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 6.75% to close at 22.46.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 11.56% to 65.00 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.97% to settle at 7.35 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (ETR:DRWG_p) which was down 2.10% to 60.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 399 to 233 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.75% to 21.69 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.16% or 105.61 to $3,238.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.06% or 1.26 to hit $62.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.99% or 1.27 to trade at $65.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.25% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.34% at 101.51.
