Trump slaps 30% tariffs on EU, Mexico
Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.20% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.33%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 4.38% or 1.11 points to trade at 26.43 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 3.48% or 0.94 points to end at 27.95 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 3.12% or 5.45 points to 180.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which lost 2.82% or 4.80 points to trade at 165.44 in late trade. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.60% or 1.70 points to end at 104.85 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) shed 1.19% or 0.19 points to 15.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.85% to 105.90, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 3.78% to settle at 128.90 and RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which gained 3.49% to close at 83.83.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 4.72% to 52.50 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 3.23% to settle at 9.76 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 2.71% to 7.11 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.85% to 105.90, Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which was up 4.58% to settle at 27.40 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 3.78% to close at 128.90.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.10% to 6.99 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 1.03% to settle at 23.02 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 0.76% to 15.58 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 299 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.34% to 19.78.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.91% or 31.03 to $3,368.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.89% or 0.56 to hit $63.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.54 to trade at $65.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 98.74.
