Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.16%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.76%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which rose 3.73% or 10.20 points to trade at 283.50 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 3.13% or 45.50 points to end at 1,499.00 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 2.81% or 0.80 points to 29.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which lost 5.22% or 1.76 points to trade at 31.97 in late trade. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) declined 4.13% or 8.70 points to end at 201.70 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) shed 3.33% or 0.80 points to 23.22.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.28% to 11.81, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 3.65% to settle at 116.30 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 3.31% to close at 2.62.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 6.52% to 66.00 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 3.54% to settle at 24.79 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.42% to 7.33 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.28% to 11.81, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 3.65% to settle at 116.30 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 3.12% to close at 59.50.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 8.72% to 35.60 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 5.16% to settle at 62.50 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.42% to 7.33 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 329 to 285 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.84% to 22.37.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.43% or 14.30 to $3,319.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.71% or 1.64 to hit $58.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.75% or 1.74 to trade at $61.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 99.28.
