Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Travel & Leisure and Software sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.34%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 3.03% or 5.55 points to trade at 188.85 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 2.45% or 7.55 points to end at 316.15 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 2.42% or 0.32 points to 13.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which lost 2.58% or 1.52 points to trade at 57.40 in late trade. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 0.32% or 0.05 points to end at 13.89 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) gained 0.32% or 0.16 points to 50.16.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 6.98% to 12.04, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 6.63% to settle at 9.24 and Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which gained 5.03% to close at 12.22.
The worst performers were BIC (EPA:BICP) which was down 12.26% to 55.10 in late trade, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which lost 2.58% to settle at 57.40 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 1.63% to 9.53 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 320 to 186 and 87 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.85% or 20.00 to $2,366.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.24% or 0.19 to hit $80.90 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.29 to trade at $85.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 105.26.
