Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Foods & Drugs and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.19%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 0.86% or 0.10 points to trade at 11.08 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 0.54% or 0.60 points to end at 112.65 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 0.48% or 0.30 points to 62.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 5.28% or 17.90 points to trade at 321.30 in late trade. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 2.73% or 1.34 points to end at 47.68 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) shed 2.65% or 19.20 points to 705.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 19.22% to 1.28, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 5.62% to settle at 1.77 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 4.97% to close at 3.04.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 5.93% to 12.30 in late trade, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which lost 5.28% to settle at 321.30 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 3.02% to 38.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 274 to 225 and 99 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.74% or 17.80 to $2,438.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $80.85 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.13 to trade at $84.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.85.
