Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.85%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which rose 5.02% or 3.46 points to trade at 72.34 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 2.52% or 5.60 points to end at 228.00 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 1.50% or 1.62 points to 109.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which lost 10.19% or 1.26 points to trade at 11.07 in late trade. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 8.29% or 1.97 points to end at 21.80 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) shed 5.17% or 4.94 points to 90.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 77.08% to 3.57, SES (EPA:SESFd) which was up 13.69% to settle at 4.90 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which gained 5.02% to close at 72.34.
The worst performers were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 12.39% to 7.43 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 10.76% to settle at 8.98 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which was down 10.19% to 11.07 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 377 to 127 and 78 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.89% or 25.89 to $2,926.99 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.82% or 0.56 to hit $67.81 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.98 to trade at $70.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 106.08.
