Street Calls of the Week
Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.05% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 11.33% or 2.69 points to trade at 26.39 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 3.18% or 0.91 points to end at 29.55 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 2.99% or 0.37 points to 12.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which lost 4.20% or 2.75 points to trade at 62.75 in late trade. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 3.40% or 5.60 points to end at 159.20 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) shed 2.94% or 1.74 points to 57.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which rose 11.33% to 26.39, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was up 10.87% to settle at 22.84 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which gained 8.97% to close at 25.50.
The worst performers were Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which was down 10.30% to 22.48 in late trade, Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which lost 4.66% to settle at 33.18 and Mercialys SA (EPA:MERY) which was down 4.25% to 10.82 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 283 to 191 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.75% or 48.90 to $2,751.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.73% or 0.50 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
