Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.03%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 4.67% or 15.25 points to trade at 341.75 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.16% or 0.84 points to end at 73.54 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 0.70% or 0.70 points to 101.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which lost 4.11% or 1.73 points to trade at 40.32 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 4.01% or 0.78 points to end at 18.56 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) shed 3.37% or 14.75 points to 422.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which rose 4.67% to 341.75, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 3.76% to settle at 1.16 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which gained 3.23% to close at 32.90.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 9.42% to 8.75 in late trade, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which lost 5.17% to settle at 1.49 and JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was down 4.96% to 18.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 160 and 116 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.10% or 25.50 to $2,338.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.48 to hit $81.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.41 to trade at $84.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.54.
