Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.94%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 3.91% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.95 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.29% or 2.12 points to end at 94.78 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 1.96% or 1.38 points to 71.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 5.25% or 1.69 points to trade at 30.48 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 4.74% or 5.10 points to end at 102.60 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) shed 4.25% or 10.50 points to 236.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which rose 6.60% to 34.88, JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was up 5.72% to settle at 17.37 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which gained 5.29% to close at 20.70.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 15.62% to 5.84 in late trade, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which lost 6.76% to settle at 24.26 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 6.12% to 0.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 270 to 232 and 85 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.08% or 2.34 to $2,924.26 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.28% or 0.85 to hit $67.21 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.98 to trade at $70.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.67.
