Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.68% to hit a new 3-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 1.51% or 0.55 points to trade at 36.87 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 1.14% or 0.54 points to end at 47.84 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 0.97% or 0.34 points to 35.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which lost 3.03% or 12.80 points to trade at 410.05 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 3.02% or 3.06 points to end at 98.34 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) shed 2.26% or 0.91 points to 39.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 2.16% to 0.48, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) which was up 1.51% to settle at 36.87 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 1.32% to close at 130.30.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 15.00% to 0.99 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 8.54% to settle at 2.55 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.84% to 1.84 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 409 to 104 and 87 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.19% or 4.35 to $2,340.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $81.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 105.54.
