Premier Foods shares drop after grocery sales hit by hot weather
Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.74% or 3.28 points to trade at 91.00 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 1.50% or 0.71 points to end at 48.17 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 1.13% or 1.60 points to 143.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which lost 2.41% or 6.20 points to trade at 250.70 in late trade. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) declined 2.39% or 1.11 points to end at 45.34 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) shed 2.24% or 8.75 points to 381.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 4.20% to 36.10, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 3.74% to settle at 91.00 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 3.74% to close at 31.90.
The worst performers were Coface (EPA:COFA) which was down 6.47% to 17.36 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 6.11% to settle at 4.22 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 3.11% to 4.89 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 252 to 234 and 87 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.55% or 84.56 to $3,406.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.04% or 2.31 to hit $59.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.67% or 2.21 to trade at $62.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 99.32.
