Goldman Sachs is out with its near-term forex outlook
Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.19%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 1.97% or 1.02 points to trade at 52.68 at the close. Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) added 1.55% or 1.95 points to end at 127.80 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 1.15% or 0.55 points to 48.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which lost 4.78% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.53 in late trade. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) declined 3.80% or 3.64 points to end at 92.24 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) shed 3.70% or 1.68 points to 43.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 5.64% to 3.47, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 3.92% to settle at 15.50 and Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which gained 3.43% to close at 57.35.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 7.09% to 4.86 in late trade, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which lost 4.78% to settle at 8.53 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 4.59% to 49.28 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 227 and 72 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 2.65% or 87.95 to $3,403.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.39% or 2.06 to hit $62.85 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.31% or 2.08 to trade at $64.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 98.72.
