FTSE 100 today: Index opens flat amid latest trade developments; pound above $1.36
Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 2.38% or 1.14 points to trade at 48.95 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.07% or 1.84 points to end at 90.56 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 1.90% or 0.36 points to 19.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which lost 5.06% or 4.70 points to trade at 88.18 in late trade. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 2.75% or 4.68 points to end at 165.50 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) shed 1.76% or 42.00 points to 2,340.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 8.19% to 3.33, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 6.62% to settle at 1.64 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which gained 6.36% to close at 48.84.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 18.22% to 2.85 in late trade, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which lost 5.06% to settle at 88.18 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 4.12% to 9.45 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 258 to 230 and 79 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.01% or 34.30 to $3,364.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.89% or 0.56 to hit $63.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.55 to trade at $65.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 98.78.
