Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 2.14% to hit a new 3-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 9.15% or 58.30 points to trade at 695.50 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 6.18% or 13.80 points to end at 237.05 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 4.91% or 116.00 points to 2,480.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which lost 1.13% or 0.16 points to trade at 14.04 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 0.94% or 0.12 points to end at 12.21 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) shed 0.93% or 0.80 points to 85.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which rose 9.15% to 695.50, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was up 6.18% to settle at 237.05 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 5.98% to close at 2.04.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 5.06% to 11.55 in late trade, Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which lost 4.18% to settle at 10.55 and Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 3.83% to 9.44 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 230 to 226 and 126 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.35% or 36.75 to $2,754.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.51% or 1.19 to hit $77.52 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 1.09 to trade at $80.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 108.80.
