Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.13%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 5.57% or 13.20 points to trade at 250.10 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 4.30% or 6.98 points to end at 169.20 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 3.57% or 1.02 points to 29.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 10.71% or 26.80 points to trade at 223.55 in late trade. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 3.01% or 0.09 points to end at 2.77 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) shed 2.36% or 1.19 points to 49.21.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 6.80% to 13.12, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which was up 6.57% to settle at 63.39 and Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which gained 6.19% to close at 41.84.
The worst performers were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was down 10.71% to 223.55 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 7.29% to settle at 5.92 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 4.76% to 0.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 275 to 191 and 94 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.29% or 8.59 to $2,999.89 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.11% or 0.74 to hit $67.29 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.75 to trade at $70.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.70.
